Early on 7th May, 2025 (Tuesday), IAF launched Operation Sindoor in response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam (22nd April, 2025). The operation involved a series of high precision airstrikes on nine terrorist infrastructure sites located in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied J & K. The mission was executed using Rafale fighter jets armed with SCALP missiles targeting key camps operated by terror outfits such as Jaish – e – Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.

On 6th May 2025, India officially announced the mock emergency drills which would be conducted across 244 districts on 7th May.
